The Impact of South Yorkshire Skills Bank Funding on Ceratizit UK & Ireland’s Growth Strategy
Ceratizit UK & Ireland is a subsidiary of a larger international group company.
They supply high-precision metal cutting tools to the machining and engineering industry across the UK and Ireland.
The company also offers technical and project support from their state-of-the-art Technical Centre at the Advanced Manufacturing Park.
Ceratizit applied for funding from the South Yorkshire Skills Bank to support a “Customs Compliance Coaching and Mentoring for International Trading Companies” training programme.
The training programme equipped staff with the knowledge to optimise customs processes, reducing delays and potentially lowering costs.
Since the start of the 2023/24 financial year and the commencement of the training programme in April 2024, Ceratizit has experienced a positive increase in turnover exceeding initial projections.
Year-to-date, the company has achieved a 14.1% growth compared to the previous year’s financial results ending February 2023. The number of buying customers has also increased by 4.5%.
Ceratizit has successfully achieved and exceeded their target of balancing international and local shipments. Currently, 60% of parcels are shipped locally, significantly improving delivery speed and reliability.
The local next-day delivery service target of 99% is consistently achieved.
The average next-day delivery rate from the international logistics centre still remains a challenge. However, with the knowledge gained Ceratizit has already seen a positive improvement which is only expected to rise further.
South Yorkshire Skills Bank is available for any size business in the region and is a flexible scheme that supports businesses in accessing funding towards their training requirements.
Dedicated Skills Advisors are there every step of the way to help with applying for up to 60% grant funding for training identified by business that will support growth.
